Support AMI by donating to us! Every contribution counts, and we want to say thank you for supporting our cause.

Help AMI raise $9,000 to conduct our first in-person workshop with ANPA and DHI in Lagos, Nigeria. The workshop will be hosted on April 4- 9, 2025. We will be teaching our curriculum, which covers menstrual anatomy, menstrual hygiene, stigma, and reusable pad-making sessions! Donations will help cover the costs of transport, housing, teaching materials, student lunches, and menstrual products for our students.

Support our staff and students! Donations that are needed:

1. Flights to Nigeria for our teachers! Support our teachers in traveling to Nigeria by donating or choosing to sponsor part of our flight if you are able! - $6000 total

2. Support our hotel, food, and transport fees when in Nigeria! Each of us needs $500 to support our stay and transport in Nigeria with ANPA. All contributions are necessary and appreciated to help us conduct this work! - $2000 total

3. Materials and Supplies! Including menstrual products ($15 per kit to provide a month’s supply of menstrual products for 40 students), material for reusable menstrual pads ($160 for 40 reusable pads), lunches and dinners for our students during the program ($250)

We are also launching our Laptop Sponsorship Fund! Support our initiative of providing all our students and volunteers with laptops through our laptop sponsorship program! We are sponsoring 35 laptops for our students and staff! One laptop costs $180.00 and will transform a life. If you are interested in sponsoring or co-sponsoring a laptop with someone else (a friend or stranger!), please select the ‘Sponsor a laptop’ to donate 100% or ‘co-sponsor a laptop’ option to donate 50% of the cost towards our sponsorship program.

We need a total of $7,200 for 30 students and on-ground staff to receive a personal, refurbished laptop!

***UPDATE*** After completing our first workshop, we could fundraise for 15 students to receive laptops and change their futures! We are so happy we’ve gotten the chance to surprise our students beyond the 3 laptops we promised and go beyond. We still want the rest of our class and staff to receive laptops! We are trying to fundraise 20 more laptops for $180 each for $3,600 raised. Donate today!

Despite the majority of the world being dependent on African resources for technology. The majority of Big Tech is reliant on conflict minerals, especially in the Congo, the pandemic illustrated a large gap between the West and Africans’ access to these same technologies. 2021 Ibrahim Forum reports that “89% of learners in sub-Saharan Africa do not have access to household computer.” (Mo Ibrahim Foundation, 2021) For girls, there is a larger disparity in digital device ownership, impacting their access to quality education.

To begin addressing these issues and supporting our students, AMI is introducing a laptop sponsorship program, where donors can sponsor one laptop per student available on our websites donation page. Our first initiative is to donate up to 40 laptops for our students and staff who will be participating in our April 2025 workshop with ANPA. Our goal is to have all 40 laptops sponsored by April 1, 2025.

All laptops that are sponsored are pre-owned laptops that will be refurbished for new use. We hope that this initiative can help address the sustainability issues of technology and to make this technology accessible to more Africans, especially African girls and women.
